Course Overview

Our four-year BEng (Hons) in Software Engineering with Foundation Year course offers you the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this diverse field of software systems. 

This programme tasks you with the building and maintenance of software systems and other computer-based solutions. By examining all elements of the process – from initial understanding of the problem, through to analysis, design and development, to testing, documentation and maintenance – this degree offers you a focused yet fully rounded education. 

You will explore the underlying principles of software engineering, while  gaining knowledge and practical experience of the latest technologies. You will be encouraged to appreciate both the technical and human aspects involved in areas such as software systems and design, systems analysis, programming, database specification and design, and system security.

Entry Requirements

UCAS points: 48

Level 3: Any subjects are acceptable

GCSEs: Five at grade C or above / grade 4 to 9

IELTS: 5.0 with no less than 4.5 in any band (Non-native speakers)

If you did not study GCSEs / A-Levels and have non-traditional entry qualifications or relevant work experience we will be happy to consider your application.

You will be required to attend an interview as part of the admissions process.
