Recent sessions have included:

- Preparing for, and succeeding in, interviews
The team also organise employer engagement opportunities, including guest speakers from the public, private, and third sectors, careers fairs, and networking events.
All students can book one-to-one sessions with a careers adviser to discuss their specific support needs.
What our students say
Mr. Roach is a wonderful career advisor and a professional in everything he undertakes. His positive attitude, advice, knowledge, and involvement in the whole process encouraged and strengthened me. Following his advice, I learnt that it is important to identify the gaps in my skills, and to develop and hone these skills to achieve my goals.
When I first contacted the Careers Adviser, I was very lost regarding my career path with a lot of unanswered questions on how to approach organisations for voluntary work, how to write a professional CV, and how to prepare for interviews. I was insecure and nervous about all these things; however, Mr. Roach answered my questions with patience and clarity. He not only gave me support, but confidence in myself and the courage to do the things that I was scared of.
You are amazing at what you do, and your passion and dedication are beyond words! Thank you for helping me write my CV and complete the ECDL course, I would never have been able to do it so professionally if it was not for your help! Thank you so much once again!
Since I reached out for Mr Roach’s help with my CV, he has been approachable and friendly. From offering guidance on how to best describe my work history to fully demonstrate the knowledge that I have gained, to advising on how to best display the skills that I have learnt from hobbies, his tips have been invaluable. He has been there at every step of my CV writing process, and I have since received many calls for interviews and successfully secured a new job.
When I contacted Stephen (the Careers and Employability Adviser), I had been looking for a job unsuccessfully for over 5 months. He helped me to create a professional looking CV, offered me professional development advice by directing me to short courses, and advised me on where best to look for a job.
When I got invited to attend a job interview, he also helped me to prepare for the interview by teaching me skills in professionalism and even organised a mock interview with one of his colleagues so that I was fully prepared. Thanks to Stephen, I went for my interview feeling confident and I was very happy to receive a call back to tell me that I had been accepted for the job!
I recommend Stephen and his employability support to anyone that requires help in finding work.
