SCOPE Sessions

SCOPE – More Than Just Academic Learning

What is SCOPE?

SCOPE is Regent College’s exclusive enrichment programme that helps students to maximise their academic, personal, and professional learning and development. SCOPE stands for:

Success

Character

Opportunity

Progress

Enhancement

SCOPE sessions are free, open to all students, optional and non-assessed.

Delivered via MS Teams, the programme of webinars, workshops, inspirational talks, and engaging activities is continually updated to meet students’ diverse needs and interests. Sessions are promoted regularly, and students are sent weekly reminders about forthcoming events. They are also recorded so that students who are unable to attend never have to miss out.

All Regent College London students are strongly encouraged to take part in as many SCOPE activities as possible. They are a fantastic way to develop critical thinking, learn valuable skills and build positive networks – enhancing students’ academic studies whilst enriching their personal growth and elevating their career prospects.

The SCOPE schedule includes the following activities:

  • Thinking into Character Workshops and Study Circles
  • Academic and Study Skills Webinars
  • Careers and Employability Webinars
  • Professional and Personal Development Masterclasses
  • Inspirational Guest Speaker Talks
  • Health and Fitness Sessions
  • Wellbeing and Mental Health Workshops
  • A 10-week course in Transpersonal Psychology
  • The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Programme

The SCOPE Guest Speaker Series

An essential part of the SCOPE programme, we regularly invite inspirational guest speakers from the public, private and charity sectors to share their life stories, career highlights and personal achievements in informal conversational settings. Drawing on a wealth of experience, these engaging, and often thought-provoking talks provide students with valuable new perspectives, as well as up to date information, advice, and guidance to help them achieve their personal and professional goals.

Recent guest speakers have included:

  • Laura Rose, Head of Philanthropy at The Prince’s Trust
  • Raksha Dave, TV Presenter and Archaeologist
  • Suzanne Nobel and Mark Elliot, Founders of Startup School for Seniors
  • Bukola Bayo-Yusuf and Winnie Annan-Forson, Founders of Excellerate Black Futures
  • Fiona McDonell, Author of Two Mirrors and a Cheetah
  • Shaun Wallace, from ITV’s The Chase
  • Wendy Broersen, CEO and founder of Superwomen & Superpeople Academy
