As Head of Quality at RCL, Roma Galvan is passionate about making a positive impact on both students and staff through effective quality assurance, academic governance and student support. She is particularly committed to promoting fairness, compliance and continuous improvement across the College.
Roma works closely with areas including complaints, disciplinary cases, appeals, academic misconduct, extenuating circumstances and Prevent responsibilities. She also provides guidance to staff on complex student cases, regulatory requirements and sector expectations, including compliance with bodies such as the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).
In her varied role, Roma is most inspired by the opportunity to uphold high academic standards while helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment. She enjoys developing policies, leading staff training and collaborating with teams across the College to strengthen quality practices and enhance the student experience.
A diverse professional background
Roma has more than 15 years of experience across several areas of higher education, including academic quality, operations, student support and university partnerships.
Her key achievements include supporting successful university validations and accreditation activities, leading preparations for Pearson External Quality Assurance and regulatory visits, and contributing to the development of policies, procedures and staff training initiatives.
Roma holds a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the British Institute of Technology and E-Commerce, as well as a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Information Security and Assurance from The School of Information Risk Management.
