As Senior Lecturer in RCL’s School of Law, Paddy Yu most enjoys the opportunity to support students in developing both their academic understanding and professional confidence.
Paddy is inspired by the continuous development within his field, especially the evolving relationship between accounting, finance, sustainability and corporate governance.
Paddy has experience in delivering business modules across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. His work focuses on programme delivery, curriculum development, assessment design and academic quality assurance, ensuring high standards in teaching and student outcomes.
In addition, Paddy contributes to programme enhancement using student performance data and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
Prior to joining RCL, Paddy led professional qualification training as Head of Learning and Professional Development in an accounting firm, where he was responsible for the delivery and coordination of training programmes and supporting learners preparing for Chartered Accountant examinations.
Paddy also brings industry experience from roles in audit and financial services, including positions at Mazars Consulting and J.P. Morgan (Global Shares), where he worked on audit processes and employee share plan (ESOP) management. This experience enables Paddy to integrate real-world insights into his teaching.
Paddy is currently completing a PhD in Accounting and Financial Management. He holds a MSc Corporate Finance from the University of Reading and an MSc Professional Accounting from the University of Liverpool.
