Course Overview

Our three-year LLB (Hons) Law course will provide you with a qualifying Law degree (QLD) and the fundamental knowledge that will allow you to excel in many possible careers in the field of law, including being a practising lawyer in England and Wales.  

Delivered by a range of expert tutors and academics, this programme will give you the analytical and transferable skills that are highly sought after by employers, therefore enhancing your employability and value in the workplace.    

This course offers many flexible study options, meaning you can choose which style of learning suits your lifestyle better, whether that is at weekends, evenings or during the daytime. Unlike many other Law degrees, this course is taught in small group sizes, giving you the individual attention and support needed for success.  

Alongside the course, we invite all RCL students to learn about Thinking into Character ™ – our unique personal, leadership and growth programme, designed to teach you how to manage and lead yourself effectively to be successful in all aspects of
your personal and professional life.

Career progression

A degree in Law is designed for students who have an interest in Law, whether they wish to become a solicitor, barrister or in-house lawyer. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be equipped to enter a diverse range of professions in the legal profession and beyond. Relevant sectors include:

Entry Requirements

Other entry requirements apply to this programme these are: You should have 3 A2-level passes (see website link and UCAS entry profiles for further details), and 5 GSCE’s at grade C or above (or equivalent) including English. Other equivalent qualifications, such as Scottish Higher passes, the Irish Leaving Certificate or International Baccalaureate. You may be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of work.

Additional Criteria

If students have: (i). passed an Access course; (ii). Edexcel/BTEC National 12 unit Certificate or 18 unit Diploma qualification in a relevant area with an average of distinctions The BTEC 6 unit Award is acceptable for HND GCE AS/A level or AVCE qualifications (iii). or can give evidence of ability through their endeavours in the world of employment admission to the LL.B. will be based upon attending an (a). Open Day/Applicants Day at the University of Bolton and/or (b). Passing a diagnostic test. In instances in which an overseas based student came within (iii) but was unable to attend the diagnostic test admission would be at the discretion of the programme leader following a close examination of the applicant’s educational and employment record.
