Dr Morris Anglin selected for Aspiring Vice Chancellor Development Programme

Dr Morris Anglin, Dean of Health and Sports Science at Regent College London.

We are delighted to share that Dr Morris Anglin, Dean of the School of Health and Sports Science at Regent College London (RCL), has been selected to join the prestigious Aspiring Vice Chancellor Development Programme for Black & Asian Heritage Senior Professionals, delivered by the University of Greater Manchester (UoGM), in partnership with the Caribbean & African Health Network

This highly regarded national programme is designed by UoGM to develop the next generation of senior leaders in higher education, equipping participants with the strategic, leadership and governance capabilities required for Vice Chancellor roles.

Building skills to shape the future of education

The programme will commence in May 2026 and run through to December 2026, incorporating residential masterclasses, mentoring and coaching. It focuses on key areas, including strategic leadership, governance, financial management, inclusive practice and navigating the complexities of the higher education landscape.

Ultimately, this programme represents more than individual career progression – it is a strategic response to a national leadership deficit. By investing in Black and Asian talent, it contributes to a more inclusive, representative and future-ready higher education sector.

Reflecting on this opportunity, Dr Anglin said:

“I am deeply honoured to have been selected for this programme. It represents a significant opportunity to further develop the strategic and executive leadership capabilities required to operate at the highest levels within higher education.

The programme’s focus on governance, institutional strategy and inclusive leadership aligns closely with my ambition to contribute meaningfully to shaping the future direction of higher education both within Regent College London and more widely across the sector.

I firmly believe that to whom much is given, much is expected, and I see this programme as an opportunity to translate that responsibility into meaningful impact through my leadership.

This programme will strengthen Dr Anglin’s executive leadership, directly supporting improvements in academic quality, student outcomes and institutional development at RCL. It reflects a commitment to responsible leadership, recognising that greater opportunity brings an expectation to deliver tangible impact across both the institution and the wider sector.

Strong institutional and sector support

Dr Anglin would also like to extend his sincere thanks to Professor Selva Pankaj, Group Chairman of Regent Global, and Dr Tharshiny Pankaj, Group CEO of Regent Global and Principal of RCL, for their continued support and strong commitment to staff development, which has enabled and encouraged engagement in opportunities of this nature.

Dr Anglin also greatly appreciates the support of RCL’s academic partner, the University of Greater Manchester – in particular, Professor Faye Ruddock, Director of the Institute of Health Equity and Social Justice, Professor Patrick McGhee, Assistant Vice Chancellor (Quality and REF), and Dr Bushan Mohan, Head of Centre for Academic Partnerships. Dr Anglin is grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to partnership staff development, and for creating opportunities that enable colleagues to grow and contribute at a national level.

On behalf of the RCL community, we extend our sincere congratulations to Dr Anglin on this well-deserved achievement. We look forward to seeing how the Aspiring Vice Chancellor Development Programme will further develop his leadership skills and contribute to his continued impact as a senior leader at RCL and in higher education.
