Why should I study in London?

London has consistently been regarded as one of the world’s top student cities.

In 2022, new rankings show that students once again voted for London as the best place to study *. Below is a guide to some of our favourite things that London has to offer.

World-class transport and accessibility – getting around has never been easier.

Just one of the many amazing things that London is known for is its world-class transport. The impressive TFL network includes the tube, the overground, clipper boats along the river, and buses around the city. The train lines are also fantastically connected, with Paddington station offering services to many other cities across the country, from Brighton to Manchester. Whether you are an international student visiting or are looking to go on holiday, the city offers convenient Airport connections to both Stanstead and Heathrow airports, making travelling stressful and hassle-free for students.

Here at Regent, we pride ourselves in ensuring our campuses are well-located. Our brand-new Holborn campus is directly in the heart of the city and is only a 3-minute walk from the Holborn tube station and a 10-minute walk from the Covent Garden station. And with cycle routes and Bike hires across the city, transportation will never be an issue.

Food and entertainment

London is famous for its vast diversity and being a multicultural city, and it offers many hot spots for global cuisine. Whether you like the Noodle bars of China Town or fancy the curry houses in Brick Lane, there is something for everybody. Entertainment-wise, you are surrounded by so many different venues. From the West End Theatre, just a 10-minute walk from our Holborn campus, to the world-famous Covent Garden and Oxford Circus shopping, you will be spoilt for choice on how to spend your hours in between studying.

Study facilities

London has many impressive libraries and study areas to help aid your studies and inspiration. From the Peckham Library and the British Library, both world-famous for their culture and history, there is also the Holborn Library, which is just a 1-minute walk away from our Holborn campus, making Regent one of the best places to study in London.

If you are interested in sports and fitness, London is home to countless Pure gyms, David Lloyd clubs, and many other facilities, including a fully equipped modern Gymbox centre that is just 2 minutes away from Holborn Campus.

Arts and Culture

If you like the arts and getting creative, London is home to some of the best museums in the world, such as the Natural History Museum, The British Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, all of which have free entry. Known also as the city that never sleeps, London offers some of the best nights out in Europe through events such as Notting Hill Carnival, New Year’s Eve parties, and Wireless Festival.

The city also hosts world-famous events throughout the year, from the Wimbledon games, London Marathon, the Boat Race, London Film Festival, and London PRIDE parade.
