It almost feels like March 2021 has come around very quickly! It was in March 2020, when the Britain turned upside down, and ever since, everything we do seems to be completed online. From working, schooling, socialising and even staying fit, are having to be done from our own homes. Well let’s try and make March 2021 a little bit more fun. We’ve listed a range of virtual events that you can take part in, all from the comfort of our very own homes.

Virtual Open Days

Regent College London are hosting not one, not two, but three Virtual Open Days in March!

At our virtual open day you will hear from our Principal, Heads of Schools, expert Academic Faculty, Recruitment and Admissions Officers, Student Finance Manager about applying and studying at Regent College London. You can find out all you need to know about our higher education courses, our transformational learning programmes and the digital delivery of our courses. Or you could ask our students directly about their experience.

The Learning Zone March Event

Following on from the February Learning Zone Event, the School of Computing & AI are happy to announce the details of the March Learning Zone Event. In the third instalment, we proudly welcome Esam Baboukhan, an e-Learning Manager at a London College, Microsoft Digital innovator of the Year 2019 and Certified Microsoft Teams Expert.

Esam will focus on Microsoft Office 365 and Teams to support online learning and share details about:

  • Professional lessons learnt with Microsoft systems and software
  • Inside tips on how to get the best out of Office 365 and Microsoft Teams
  • Learning and Teaching Online ‘hacks’
  • ‘Tips to success’ for learning through Microsoft systems during the Coronavirus

We are excited to host Esam Baboukhan at the end of March and hope that both staff and students partake in the virtual event.
 

 

Health and Social Care Guest Speaker Event

We will also hold a conversation with Dr Justin Varney (Director of Public Health, Birmingham City Council) who will discuss engagement and working with communities during Covid-19.

Birmingham City Council is responsible for protecting and improving the health and wellbeing of the 1.2 million citizens of Birmingham, one of the most diverse and youngest cities in Northern Europe. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic there has been a strong focus on community engagement and empowering communities to respond to the challenges of misinformation. So far the Council has recruited over 780 community Covid-19 Champions and commissioned 19 different providers to work with 35 different targeted communities as well as commissioning arts and culture based messaging and engagement. Dr Justin Varney, Director of Public Health for Birmingham City Council, will be sharing reflections on the breadth and depth of this public health response working with communities and some of the challenges and learning from the approach.

London-Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival

If you love to laugh, this is the perfect event for you! The festival will showcase short comedy films from around the world to a discerning London and UK audience. They have a variety of awards for outstanding films in different genres and from different geographical locations. And any films that are not in English will be sub-titled.

It looks to be a great event to be a part of and a sure way to cheer yourself up!

If you’re a fan of all things Beauty and Hair, this show is the perfect event for you to join! An Evening with Kazuo Ishiguro

Are you a literature fan? If so, why not spend an evening in March with Kazuo Ishiguro! In his very first in-conversation global event, Kazuo will discuss the release of his much anticipated new novel! Kazuo Ishiguro won the Literature Nobel Prize in 2017 and was praised for his novels which provided new depth to Literature!
