With Lockdown 3.0 and Half-term in full swing, it may be a little bit difficult juggling family life, studying and keeping everything else going. Virtual events are a great way of escaping reality for a little while and focusing your mind elsewhere. We know it’s the not the same as physically doing an activity, but virtual events will have to do for now! Which is why for this month’s blog post, we’ve drawn up a little list of events that you can enjoy.
The Learning Zone February Event:
Following on from the success of last month’s Learning Zone Event, The School of Computing & AI are proud to host Dr Mike Howarth (Ex-BBC Producer) for the February Event.
The second event of the Learning Zone will see Dr Mike Howarth share ideas for students to use in project presentations and for the academic team to use in their business lectures.
It’s a story of top level communications BBC training. Dr Mike will share three ideas that benefit student learning online and help resolve the stress and worry of teaching online caused by Covid-19.
In addition, Dr Mike will demonstrate:
- How you can improve your physical home study set up
- Brush up your personal presentation style
- Ways to write simple scripts that release your creativity teaching ideas in sessions
The full details of the event have been left below:
When: Friday 26th February 2021 – From 5:00pm-6:00pm
Duration: 1 Hour

We are excited to host Dr Mike at the end of February and hope that both staff and students partake in the virtual event.
