Exam stress affects most students in varying ways. It is important to manage this stress and find ways to help eliminate the risk of burnout. Students at our Harrow campus had the opportunity to attend a Stress Management Workshop run by professional therapists from the Harrow branch of CNWL Talking Therapies Services and picked up useful tips how to deal with stress.
Mark Howell and Amyas Doulton, therapists from the Harrow branch of CNWL Talking Therapies Services talked to students about what stress is and its effects on the body. Students practiced some relaxation techniques and were able to ask questions about how to develop resilience and battle anxiety.
At the end of the session, students were given information on how to access further support, and the opportunity to request one to one counselling sessions.
Students found the workshops very helpful and were equipped with a set of practical tools which will help them to overcome stressful situations and manage their anxiety better. Students and staff are looking forward to the next workshop on Mindfulness which will take place next term.
