Vincentia Boham

Vincentia Boham joined RCL in 2021as ASO of the School of Business and Enterprise (SOBE). She has several years of experience teaching further education and HE in the UK and abroad.

She combines active blended learning methods in synchronous and asynchronous online environments. Prior to joining RCL, she worked in the UK HE sectors, teaching and supporting BSc and MSc Accounting and Finance. Countries of teaching include the UK, Hong Kong and China. Vincentia is an Associate Fellow at AFHEA) with an excellent academic staff record, individual Honours and Distinctions from the University of Northampton.

Vincentia’s professional background includes several years as an Assistant Inspector of Taxes (abroad), Finance Assistant at an NHS supported Charity, Chartered Accountants, and Accounting Services. She has a record of entrepreneurship, including a licensed Practice to train small business owners to keep their Finance accounts (UK). Professional qualifications held include an intermediate in Chartered Institute of Taxation and Accountancy (Abroad).

Vincentia is also a full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and a Licensed Bookkeeper (MAAT, AATQB) in the UK, offering her Intermediate in ACCA. Vincentia believes in reaching a learner as a unique person, giving nurturing to achieve their individual, academic and professional goals.

Vincentia’s research interest, though emerging, includes Education, Business, Accounting and Finance topics. Accounting and Finance will involve Sustainability, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Past dissertations were based on CSR and ESG and their relationships with financial performance. Nevertheless, the subjects are still new.

She has an informal blog publication on ‘Bookkeeping and why is it significant?’ In education, she is interested in topics including teaching and learning and would like to investigate the uniqueness of the individual learner and how to reach them in a large group for success. Vincentia’s research interest is just emerging though began years back.

She is looking forward to being more active in research and publication in the coming year.

Current modules:
• Professional Practice (BMP6017): *The module explores the role of the finance manager in internal control, review and audit compliance, * considers finance options and their effect on capital structure of a business, *the impact of business ethics, sustainability and long term accountability through business reporting and auditing.
• Project Management (BMP5004): This module includes *project planning and design, *project management approaches and techniques,*project roles and responsibility, *managing quality and risks.
• *Financial Management and Decision Making (BMP5006): the course is about financial management techniques and sources of finance and capital structure, * interpretation of accounts, *standard costing and budgeting control.
• Information Systems and Big Data (BMP4005): this module covers business opportunities in the era of Big Data, *role of data, information and knowledge within management, *Digital business strategy. *the evolution of digital management practices and innovations.
