Ms Kusumlata Sheoran

Kusumlata Sheoran is an Academic Assessor (Lecturer of Computing) and is a Microsoft Certified Professional with Masters in Computing, having completed AET-PTLLS from City and Guilds. She joined Regent College London in 2020 as a Computer Science Lecturer and has been involved in teaching, curriculum development, moderation, and other academic-related delivery and coordination. She has been teaching since 1994 and is passionate about teaching programming and databases. She taught BSc (Hons) Final Year Top-Up Level 6 (Computing) of Greenwich University from 2012 to 2016 in the computing modules related to Database Design and Web Application using Visual Studio 2005, 2013 using MS-Access & SQL Server 2014. In 2016 she actively coordinated with the University of Greenwich as a Link Tutor along with teaching and attended various Progression Award Board (PAB) meetings. She taught Computing courses from the British Computer Society (from 2006) at Certificate, Diploma, and Postgraduate-Diploma levels along with ABE Advanced Diploma in Business Information Systems (Level 6) subjects: RDBMS and Principle of Programming. Also involved in teaching BTEC HND (Edexcel) in Computing from 2014 to 2020 in various subjects from Certificate Level 3 to Diploma Level 4. Additionally developed various Unit packs in terms of Assessments, Module Guides, presentations, and Tutorials on BTEC modules. Alongside teaching, Kusumlata has worked in Updating and maintaining Student Management Software of the (Web application) using ASP and MS Access and achieved programming language faculty certifications while working in India in various Educational Institutes.

Kusumlata’s research interests include teaching, learning, assessment, curriculum, and widening access and participation in higher education. Currently, she is involved in research on the title “Asynchronous learning: how can we integrate group work, hands-on activities, and discussion in the classroom?”. In the past, she has been an active participant in webinars and Events from BCS and Advance HE for her continuous professional Development. She also has a flair for writing at a personal level on real-life experiences.
