Muhammad Tabassum is Head of HND and enjoys professional standing as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, Advanced HE) and Qualified Teaching and Learning Skills (QTLS). He is a member of the Society for Education and Training and the Chartered Management Institute. His academic qualifications include an MBA, a Master’s in Economics and an M Phil in Economics. He holds a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, Assessor’s qualification, along with a Certificate in Coaching. He works as an Assessor, Internal Verifier and Teacher Trainer with dignity and pride.
He has more than 25 years of experience in teaching and training, assessment and moderation and quality assurance. He worked as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor in Business and Economics at various higher education institutions in the UK and abroad.
He also worked as Programme Leader at Birmingham City University International College and as Programme Director at Apex College London. His teaching and education management are based on the philosophy of understanding learners’ needs and fulfilling them in a delightful manner. At Regent, Tabassum joined as Head of HND in June 2021 and worked with an efficient team of Tutors, Assessors, Customer Support Officers, Academic Support Officers and Programme Leaders.
He performed remarkably to achieve advancements in teaching and learning practices, formative and summative assessment and staff development via continuous standardisation meetings/training. The data reflects a vivid improvement in submission, achievement and progression rates in the HND programme during Tabassum’s role as Head of HND. Tabassum’s research areas include Development Economics, International Economics, Business Management and Education Management.
He has published research articles and supervised research projects at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is intending to do a professional Doctorate in Business Administration in the near future.
