As Director of Law at RCL, Emma Brett draws on her extensive experience to shape a stimulating learning environment for our Law students.
Emma is an accomplished academic leader with more than 20 years’ experience in working in higher education. She has developed and led courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including working with the College of Policing to develop Degree Apprentices for new entrants for police services in the Eastern Region.
Prior to joining RCL, Emma served as Academic Lead at Anglia Ruskin University. In this role, she provided academic leadership for Police Education and oversaw the delivery of degree level course for the Metropolitan Police Service.
Emma is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Learning and Teaching Research Fellow. Her publications and conference publications include work on domestic violence, dissonance in postgraduate students and overcoming barriers to learning.
Emma is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy). She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology and in Professional Research as well as a Masters in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education), a PGCert in Learning and Teaching and a BA Hons Sociology.
