Dr. Tryambaka Mahapatra

Tryambaka Mahapatra is an Associate Academic Assessor in Business Management and holds a Ph.D. in Management from Ravenshaw University in India. He has nearly 20 years of teaching and industry experience in Business Management. Prior to working at Regent College, he taught for Global Banking School in its London and Manchester campus for about four and half years. His other teaching assignments include six and half years in the National Institute of Science & Technology in India and two years in KIIT University in India. Tryambaka is very passionate about teaching and believes education can transform the lives of learners in a very positive way. He delivers lectures primarily in the areas of accounting & finance, entrepreneurship, and skills for academic development. Before embarking upon a career in teaching, Tryambaka worked for the private sector in Business Management in Mumbai for about six and half years. Tryambaka worked for his Ph.D. at both Ravenshaw University in India and the University of West of Scotland in the UK. He received a full studentship from the University of West of Scotland for three years to pursue his Ph.D. studies.

Tryambaka Mahapatra’s research interests are in the area of entrepreneurial finance. He has published papers in leading journals that, include the Asia Pacific Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Journal of Management. The researcher papers discuss aspects related to Business Angel investment process. He has presented papers at leading international conferences in the UK and India. The conferences in the UK include the ones organised by the Institute of Small Business and Enterprise on Entrepreneurship and the University of Leicester on Research Methodologies. The conferences in India include the ones organised by Indian Economic Association and NIT Rourkela.

Unit 5- Accounting Principles- The module introduces to the students about book-keeping, various financial statements and ratio analysis.

Unit 13- Financial Reporting- The module helps the students to explore the conceptual frameworks for financial reporting and how they are related to the reporting of financial information.

Unit 15- Financial Management- The module focuses on the principles of finance and investment. The learners get to know about the investment appraisal methods, break-even analysis and the other associated techniques related to financial management.

BMP 3005- Applied Business Finance- The module discusses the key financial statements, ratio analysis and financial numeracy.
