Dr Andrey Jichev

Dr Andrey Jichev has spent twenty years in the diplomatic service of his country Bulgaria, including postings in Finland and the UK. He was one of the founding members of the EU Department at the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry in 1993 and worked on Bulgaria’s EU accession preparations. From February 2003 to February 2011, he served as an Adviser for Board directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, London.
Educated in the Russian Federation and UK, he has an MA and Ph. D from the Moscow University of International Relations (MGIMO); postgraduate diploma in EC Law from King’s College, London and an MBA from Richmond, the American International University in London. Dr Jichev has also taken part in EU and EBRD training courses in international finance and project management.
Since 2002 he is a lecturer at IES London, where he teaches Contemporary Business Issues and the EU, International Marketing, and Economics and Business of Climate Change. Since 2009 he is a lecturer at Boston University SA London where he teaches International Management Environment, Global Promotional Strategies and International Business. Since 2010 he is a Visiting lecturer at Regents University where he has taught Cross-cultural management and teaches International Negotiations.
Dr Jichev has represented his country in numerous international forums in Bulgaria, Finland, Belgium, Greece and the UK and as an academic has participated in international congresses and conferences in Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, the Russian Federation and Ireland. He has published several research papers on international relations and European integration. Dr Jichev is currently writing a book on “Diplomacy: Mode d’emploi and a textbook on Economics and Business of climate change.
His hobbies include theatre (including translating modern plays and starring in amateur drama theatre), jogging and taking part in walking marathons for charity. He is an avid reader and has an expansive book collection covering all genres!
