RCL delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes awarded by the University of Greater Manchester (UoGM).
UoGM is known for its student-centred, industry focused approach. Offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the university prioritises hands-on learning and employability.
With modern facilities, industry placements and professional accreditation opportunities, UoGM provides a supportive community and practical education to equip students with career-ready skills.
Pearson is one of the UK’s largest awarding organisations. Its BTEC Higher National qualifications combine practical, real-world learning with the theoretical knowledge needed to prepare students for employment and further study.
RCL has successfully delivered BTEC Higher National qualifications since 2011 and currently delivers Pearson Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Business (Management), Digital Technologies and Engineering.
We are currently supporting students through teach-out arrangements in partnership with Buckinghamshire New University and St Mary’s University, Twickenham.
Our programmes are externally validated and subject to quality assurance by our academic partners, while our registration with the Office for Students (OfS) demonstrates that we meet the regulatory requirements expected of higher education providers in England.
The OfS is the independent regulator for higher education in England. It works to protect the interests of students by supporting a diverse, sustainable and independent higher education sector.
The OfS sets requirements that registered higher education providers must meet in areas including teaching quality, student outcomes, equality of opportunity, and governance and financial sustainability.
RCL is registered with the OfS, enabling it to access public grant funding and, subject to meeting the relevant requirements, apply for degree awarding powers.
The College undergoes two annual quality assurance reviews by Pearson – once via Academic Management Review and once via the Standards Verification process.
Academic Management Review
Academic Management Review (AMR) is an annual review of the College’s quality assurance systems. It confirms that appropriate policies, procedures and processes are in place to support the effective management, delivery and assessment of Pearson Higher National qualifications. The review also examines how the College manages vocational provision and maintains academic standards across its programmes.
Standards Verification
Standards Verification is Pearson’s process for ensuring that approved providers maintain consistent national standards in assessment and quality assurance.
Pearson appoints a Standards Verifier, who is a subject specialist, to review assessment materials and sampled student work. Following the review, the verifier provides feedback, highlights good practice and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual survey that gathers feedback from final-year undergraduate students across the UK about their higher education experience.
Running since 2005, the NSS provides valuable insights to help universities, colleges and students’ unions identify strengths and areas for improvement. The results also help prospective students make informed decisions about where and what to study.
Eligible students are invited to answer a series of questions covering key aspects of their course, including teaching, learning opportunities, academic support, learning resources and student voice.
RCL is a UKVI Licensed Student Sponsor. This means we are authorised to sponsor international students who wish to study in the UK. Our Sponsor Licence Number is GXN1JH48X.
As a licensed Student Sponsor, we meet UKVI’s sponsorship requirements and fulfil our ongoing sponsor duties, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining the high standards expected by the UK government.
This means we are approved to accept eligible international students (non-UK and non-Irish nationals who require a Student visa) onto our programmes and issue them with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to support their Student visa application.
