Richard Resch is a leading international educator with over forty years of successful higher education experience, in the USA and abroad including culturally diverse settings in Italy, the US Virgin Islands, Brazil and England, involving trusteeship, US and transnational accreditation, assessment of institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes, strategic planning, teaching, curriculum and program development, financial management, resource development and grant-writing, facilities and infrastructure planning, and personnel development.
He has held appointments as a tenured faculty member, administrator, dean, provost, and trustee at the University of The Virgin Islands; Universidade Federal de Goias – Brazil; The College of Staten Island-City University of New York; Richmond, The American International University In London; Dowling College (NY); The American University of Rome (Italy); and University of the Potomac (Washington, DC), serving as Provost at the last four. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Richmond since 2016, serving as its Chair during 2019-2020.
Dr. Resch holds a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut, an M.A. from the Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. from Union College (Schenectady, New York) all in mathematics; he attended the Institute for Educational Management at the Graduate School of Education, Harvard University; and holds an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Richmond, The American International University in London.
